Access: Please take a bus from Chino station and get off at Nishishirakabako bus stop. I highly recomend you rent a car and sightsee around Nagano, which is more convenient.

In Japan, we have a big holiday week in May.

We call it ''golden week''

In golden week, So many japanese people are off, and everywhere is so crowded.

 

My family and I went to Nagano which has great nature and a wonderful ski field.

I wanted to get relaxed in nature,escaping from the crowd.

 

Nagano, especially around Shirakaba lake, there are some attracttive spots for family.

Teddy bear museum is one of them.

If you  take children with you, you should visit.

 

In the museum, they have so many picture spots, where you can take pictures freely.

 

Like the picture above, they have your own birth month's big teddy bear you can take a picture with.
September( my daughter's birth month) was a cute brown bear. each month has different colored teddy. and also, you can see the cute teddy shop behind her. you can buy lovely souvenirs of teddy motifs.

You can ride, but it doesn't work!

 

 

 They have a sweet space where little children can play with the teddy.

 

 

In the teddy museum, you can see teddy's world of many different countries.

For example, like the picture above, bears wear the country's clothes and pretend to do what the country's people likely to do.

In japanese world, bears wearing Kimono play eat sushi, for example.

 

They also has a game, that you try to find a special bear hiding in the countries' world. If you could find all hiding bear, you can get a prize. Sticker or Pen with three colours.

 

SPECIAL IMFORMATION!

In the museum, they have a special photo studio where you can wear Bear costume and take a picture.

!You should take a camera with you!

I think It would be a good memory of your family~~

It is sooooo cute, isn't it???

 

 

It is not an exciting place like a amusement park, but you can enjoy this cute place with your children.

And also, you can take many cute pictures here.

 

 



Gunkan island in Nagasaki ( world heritage site)

Nagasaki is a remarkable place in Japan, because Nagasaki's many places were decided to be world heritage sites.
One of them, I think, the most famous place is Gunkan island.

About two weeks ago, I went to Nagasaki with my family in order to visit my husband's grandpa and grandma.
Unfortunately, little children(0-6 years old) are not allowed to land gunkan island. I think this is because Gunkan island has so many old and dilapidated buildings. Little children sometimes act naughty and it could be dangrous if they go to banned places to go.

Gunkan Island (軍艦島)
Best for: 7 years old to adults
Access: You need to take part in one of gunkan island tour companies. We have some different companies in Nagasaki.
Reservation: You need to make a reservation in advance of the gunkan island tour companies.If they still have vacancy for the ship, you might be able to join the tour without reservation.
Fee: Depends on the gunkan island tour companies. For exaple, I paid 4,300yen per each person.

 I went to Gunkan island by Gunkan island concierge. The day was Saturday and the tour was full of people. They told us that about 140 people was the maximum on the ship.
I recomend, you should go and line up early before the time, because you can have seat on the second frour of the ship, where you can look over the sea and the gunkan island.

Gunkan island, was a island city of coal mine from 19th to 20th. 

At the time, coal is the most powerful energy, so the workers could have earned much better salary compared to the normal people living in Japan.

The prospering time, japanese first concrete building was built for workers and their families.

 

 

 

It had a hospital, theater, kindergarten, school, pool, police station, barber etc in this small island.

Almost all facilities you can imagine were built here.

 

 

 

 Many family had a developed machine at the time, just like TV, air conditioner.

The island has trees and plants. I don't know if it also had them in the era.

 

Most buildings are collapsing.

 

 

 

 

Only designated area is allowed to visit for guest's safe.

 

 The actual island was much bigger than I had imagined. I was thinking with deep emotion that many many years ago, people were living in this historical place.

When I was on my way home, I said goodbay to this lonely island. I would love to come back here in the future with my children again. This time, my children could not come with us because they are not more than 6 years old.


P.S ( the things I got suprised)
1.I found some people were fishing in the island. You will know how they can fish in the island when you join the gunkan island tour!
2. The service of the gunkan island tour company was so good. They always have english speaking stuffs, so don't need to worry about the language.

Nagoya Anpanman Children Museum and Park

We went to Nagoya Anpanman Museum at the beginning of this month!
Anpanman is a very famous character of japanese animation. Especially for little children!!

My daughter and son also love Anpanman sooooo much.
They enjoyed the fantastic museum with so many events and attractions.

Today, I introduce Anpanman Museum.

Parking: 1000 yen for 1 day

When you pay the admission fee, you can get this special toy.

ONLY for children!

press the button, and Anpanman comes out into the center window!

 

After we entered the entrance, we saw a big ferris wheel with so many anpanman characters riding.

And, we took a picture in front of the character statues.

My children loved the toy and kept playing all the time.

 

 

Big ferris wheel! You can not ride unfortunately....

 

 

In the Museum, there are almost no attraction that you can ride.

But, little children just like my daughter and son, tend to get afraid of moving attractions, so I think this style of anpanman museum is so good for little children.

On the other hand, it might be boring for over 7 years-old kids.

 

This is SUSHI restrant that kids can pretend a SUSHI chef.

Besides the attractions I wrote above,

they have many events.

You can sing and dance with real anpanman and other characters.

You can watch movies on a big screen just like a movie theater!!

 

 

 

They also have shops where you can buy character goods, bakery where you can really buy anpanman's face bread.

 

We bought these popcorn cases.

You can choose two flavers butter or anko(sweet been paste)charamel popcorn.

 

 

I felt this is a fantastic place for little children, and also parents can enjoy, looking at their kids' happy faces.

Well, the last weekend, we went to a farm!

The farm is located in a countryside, that might be why the farm was not crowded.

先週末、牧場にいってまいりました～

その牧場、田舎にありまして、それが理由なのかわかりませんが、全然混んでいませんでした。

After my son started to work, this was the first time for him to visit a farm.

He was extremely exited!

I was so scared to see my son touch and squeezed from tiny animal to big ones without fear.

息子があるきだしてから初めての牧場だったので、彼はもうすごく興奮して喜んでいました～

が、怖いもの知らずで、小さい動物から大きいものまで恐れなしに触って、ぐわし！と潰してしまったりするので

見てるこっちは怖くて怖くて(;_;)

広い草原でも遊んでいました。

何を話しているのかな？

My daughter said,

I want to ride on a horse! ＼(^-^)／(*^^*)

I was impressed because she used to be scared to ride on a horse.

She grew up.

娘が馬に乗りたい！っていったので

私はとっても感動しちゃいました。

前は怖い怖いっていってたのに、

子供は成長しますね！

She was swinging on the horse, which made me worried a little bit.

馬の上で左右に大きく揺れていたのでちょっと心配になっちゃったけど…

This is right after the car stopped working.

こちらは、乗り物がストップしてしまった瞬間です。

He was crying terribly.

大泣き。

I felt children's growth so much in this short trip.

今回は、子供の成長を感じられた小旅行になりました。

Hello!!

I wanted to make something that was good for a happy new year, and

made this. I wanted something that I could wear with my normal clothes.

お正月に何かいいものが作りたくなって、以前これを作りました～

洋服にさらっとつけられるものが何かほしかったんです。

 

 

This has both japanese style and western style, which is so cute,I feel.

 

日本っぽいし、西洋っぽい感じがとってもかわいい。

 

 

I am adicted of DESNEY!!!!

but the mickey shapes are too childish for me.

I chose red roses which come together with the mickey tops.

 

ディズニー中毒の私ですが、

さすがにミッキーのアクセはかわいすぎるかなって。

昨日ですが、雪あそびにいってきました～

My son didn't like snow.....

いそがしい、いそがしい。

しかし、一方で息子は雪がお嫌いみたいで～

 

 

 

We made a igloo, but it didn't work for my son.

 

かまくらもどき？をつくっても、ダメ。

 

 

 

 

 

My daughter made the snow cake with shells on the bottom that we had got at okinawa.

but the cake didn't work, either.

 

We were so dissapointed with so much effort to come here.

家でかならず英語だけで過ごす時間をちょっぴり

作った我が家。

前より格段に英語がでるようになりました～！

Halloween and resent days ハロウィンと最近の日々

It has been loooong time since i had written the last blog.

I was busy because somehow i got an idea that i wanted to start  a garden especially for fruits.

前回のブログ記事からだいぶご無沙汰になってしまいました！

なぜかフルーツの畑を始めたいと思いたって、畑をせっせとやっていて忙しかったのです。

I want to write about my garden next time.

畑のことはまた次回書きたいと思います。

Its too late to write about halloween.

In japan, we usually don't go for sweets hunting throughout neighborhood.

But, we went to halloween party held by my daughter's english school.

My daughter dressed as shelly mey the disney bear. My son, duffy.

I made the costumes.

They were so cute just like real soft toys!!(*^-^*)

ハロウィン野子とを書くのは遅すぎですが(*´-`)

日本では、近所をまわってお菓子をもらいにいくと言うことはしないのが一般的だと思いますが、娘の英語の習い事でハロウィンイベントがありましたのでいってきました(*^^*)

娘はディズニーのシェリーメイちゃん、息子はダッフィーになりました！！

もちろん、私の手作りです(*^-^*)

本物のぬいぐるみみたいでと～ってもかわいかったです。

これは、私たちがクッキーを作った時。

My kids were sick and we stayed all day.

I just wanted to make the  down day a little happy.

They ate cookies with smile!

子供たちが病気で一日家に閉じ籠り。

気がめいってしまう一日を少しでもはっぴーにしてあげたかったんです。

子供たちは笑顔でクッキーをたべてくれました！
